Summary

Evaluates customer training requirements and develops solutions to satisfy.  Analyzes data to identify and recommend technologies for use in meeting customer requirements.  Assists in developing and documenting training standards and specifications to facilitate training design, development, and delivery.  Develops instructional models and contributes to storyboarding and content development activity. Conducts courseware reviews and participates in activity geared toward keeping our stakeholders apprised of business decisions and related activity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:  

  • Applies expertise in relation to specific customer requirements as specified in Key Performance Imperatives, Statements of Work, Project Definition, Specifications, and other related documents.  May include customer interaction in support of others.
  • Provides systems administration support to our LMS and LCMS.
  • Collects, examines, and interprets information in support of training-related projects and initiatives.   Participates in preparing Statements of Work, Estimates, Budgets, and Project Schedules.
  • Analyzes data to identify and recommend training technology solutions and integration strategies. Ensures appropriate level of working integrations that incorporates such items as enterprise use, modeling and simulation, and embedded training applications.
  • Develops instructional models and training material utilizing the latest technologies, and in accordance with training development best practices. Participates in courseware reviews.
  • Researches, collects and analyzes source data in preparation for development and documentation of training standards and specifications.
  • Ensures consistently in metadata tagging as applied to training content and stylesheets with attention to re-use.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communications or Instructional Design, with an emphasis on adult learning, training systems use and support, and/or practical experience proving competency in these arenas.
  • Minimum two (2) years instructional design and training systems integration experience. Content development experience desired.
  • Minimum four (4) years adult education experience, to include training needs analysis and instructional design.
  • Established background in deploying eLearning within a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Established background in use and technical support of Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS). Xyleme expertise preferred.
  • Experience authoring in markup languages, e.g. XML, HTML, and development and use of cascading style sheets.
  • Proven background in database management.
  • Well-developed technical research skills.
  • Computer savvy, to include MS Office suite, Adobe Captivate and/or Articulate and/or Raptivity.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to include stand-up facilitation.
  • Customer oriented, with a service delivery focus.
  • Pilot certification with instrument rating highly desired.
